Jump start

Going back to  my previous post about goal setting, I just stroke a mini-goal.

No sooner than I thought that I will be able to purchase my soon-to-be notebook for my illustrated travelogue. *strikes out mini goal*

I can see good things to come this year. Let’s just hope that this momentum fire keeps burning.

All my pens are ready for inking.

Illustrations, get ready!

Dare to be Challenged

Pardon for the inconsistencies.

Apart from being drowned with work deadlines (just finished my 2nd baby site and currently undergoing site revisions), life outside the confines of this blog took over and once again left my little space in the web collecting more “cyber“-dust bunnies.

I know. Excuses. excuses *shame*

Anyhow, 2013 just started (11 months to go!) and I guess it’s not yet too late to start goals. I’m not very good with keeping resolutions, but I welcome  challenges every now and then. if there’s one thing I’ve learned inside the workforce, It is to set goals, big or small and become committed to achieve them.

Ups and Downs

I know. It’s been so long.

Pardon for the inconsistencies. I know I promised that I will be posting as many as I could but due to the lack of creativity to provide something of substance, there goes a series of dead space. What used to a religious routine turned out to be a rare one. But hopefully, someday I will get that ‘hang’ of updating this space as much as I can, just like the old days.

So let’s start brewing!

1.) A Year Older, New Candle to light.

August will always be close to my heart. Not only because it IS my natal month, somehow, it usually is my peak of being at my best: Physically, emotionally, spiritually and mentally.

Anyhow, this is year was special because:

  • I nailed my first job interview, hence the second item in this entry.
  • I received my first smartphone(first postpaid plan as well)
  • K and I turned one. ^^,
Despite the ‘habagat’ nightmare that happened 24 hours right after my birthday, this year’s August is still.. awesome. :)

2.) Fresh Grad No More

8 hours. Mondays thru Fridays. HTML/CSS + a bit photoshop.

Back in Pasig after nearly 10 years since high school graduation. Currently braving the streams of early morning traffic, rush hour to and from work and the lunch rush. Coincidentally, today (October 22nd!) marks my 2nd month of “work life”. *only 4 months to go before turning a new leaf. hihi :D *

3.) Creative SPARKS

I know it’s early to tell but somehow I’m slowly getting uninspired with work. Most probably because of the environment I’m in for 5 days, 8 hours.

Uninspired = less productivity.

But rather than pinpoint all the nitty-gritty that makes me uninspired, I need to find an outlet that I can channel all the pessimism that goes with it.

One of my former schoolmate/colleague said: “No one can influence you but yourself”. With that in my mindset every time I go to work, I guess it will be close enough to keep me going at least for the next 4 months.

With that, the motivation to push through with a project in the near future with my friends is getting stronger. Hopefully we can finally find time to sit, talk it out and start drafting. :)

Father’s Day Feast

On occasions like this, our ohana usually heads out to the restaurant of choice for the day and fill our tummies to the fullest.

For father’s day this year, let’s just say that we’ve come unprepared on what to give our beloved King. Woken up by my mum on a Sunday morning, I was tasked to make reservations to Alba to avoid queuing for the lunch rush in since we still have to pick up my brother from his internship hence, we will be running late for lunch.

Apparently, Alba, and the other restaurants I’ve called are fully booked, much to our dismay. So there goes the daunting suggestion of my beloved dad to just settle for a home-cooked dinner.

Cooking is one my favorite hobbies and I’d do it in a heartbeat provided that I’m armed with all the ingredients at hand with my idea bulb blinking non-stop.

Since it’s our King’s day, I gave him full reign on what he wanted for our special dinner that night. Dad requested I do the roast beef we had last Noche Buena  (I see no problem at all since I can have it marinated for 6 hours) —BUT,  he also requested that I do all the sides that went with it. O__O He’ll just drive by S&R and get everything that I needed.

Cutting to the chase, I had to make a 5-course meal in 6 hours… all by myself. O__O

Our feast menu for the night:

  • Roasted Tomato Soup
  • Caesar Salad + homemade caesar dressing
  • Pommes Puree
  • Roast Beef Rumb in Dijon rub with caramelized veggies on the side
  • Brioche pudding a la mode

6 hours of pure bliss (and hell) in our kitchen whipping up everything.

By the time our piece de resistance was ready, I felt a teeny bit of dizziness ringing through my head. A sign that I’m as beat as an old rug. I barely had 3 hours of sleep the night before and was up and about in the kitchen the next morning until midnight.

But all in day’s work was worth it, seeing everyone, most especially OUR dad consuming every little crumb of everything I had prepared that afternoon.

I shall post the recipes for this feast on my next entry…  :)

……..

Guess who’s back?

Yep! That’s right.

I decided to come back to blogging to keep the creative juices pouring. It’s been a long time since I wrote something decent and somehow that’s what I’ll be focusing from now on: to at least write something of substance and to keep the short-nothings and reblogging at minimum.

So what’s new?

Well, nothing much has changed except that life behind the keyboard the past few years have been extremely an adventure (and it’s still is!) which gave me a new perspective of life in general. It’s good to have that kind of break, where it gave me the chance to indulge what the outside world has to offer.

Blogging has been part of my life ever since I started way back in 2001, a decade later (with a couple of years of being “on hiatus” in between), I find myself reunited with my keyboard after such a long time.

My blog has been into different homes, now currently residing here in Tumblr. It has also undergone numerous name changes as I think is vital because obviously, the name suggests the what one writes about. :)

Friends know me as the quiet type of individual. Truth be told, yes, I really am. :) I rarely speak out my thoughts much as I wanted to make a stand for myself. Rather, I have this internal debate going on in my head instead of being vocal about it.

Thought Bubble - as my new blog name suggests, shall chronicle what goes into my thinking cap. I may not have the most interesting stories to tell but we’ll see. ^^,

I may not be able to write as religiously as I can just like before but, I shall try my best to fill this up with read-worthy posts.

So, there you go. Welcome back as well. :)

About

Avatar Guess who's back? :)

Glad you made it here too.

Web Developer with the aspirations of making it as a graphic and layout artist.

Been a blogger for a decade now but somewhere in between I lost touch. Just thought of defibbing my cyber-dusted blog to keep my creative juices pouring once again.

This is... my kind of Neverland where Hook does not exist. ^^,
